Commerce – 19 year old William Baker has been arrested in Dallas for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant out of Commerce. The warrant was issued in connection with a shot fired through a second story unit of Mitchell Hall on the A&M-Commerce campus last week. University Police will pick Baker up from the Lew Sterret Justice Center sometime today. It was easy enough for Police to find Baker when he walked into a DPS office to renew his driver's license.

Hunt County – A school finance plan approved by the Texas House of Representatives would increase funding for school districts in Hunt County.

Commerce – The A&M-Commerce basketball team moved up to number 5 in the last national poll of the season. The top seeded team in the NCAA Division 2 South Central regional that begins this weekend at the A&M-Commerce field house, the Lions moved up 3 spots in the final coaches' poll after winning the Lone Star Conference Championship. A&M-Commerce guard Jermart Miller was also named Co-player of the Year in the 2005 Daktronics ALL-South Central Regional Team announced yesterday.
