Free Produce Giveaway: free fruits and veggies will be given out at the West Main Church of Christ in Wolfe City on the third Thursday of each month through October.Going from 11 a.m. to until the food is gone, which is usually around noon.Everyone is welcome & no documentation is needed. Please bring your own bags if you can.
On the evening of Thursday, April 18th, the Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce presents a concert featuring their Wind Ensemble. Special Guest Artists Boston Brass will join in for a collaborative performance, featuring the music of George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein and more. Admission is free and open to the general public. Starting at 7:30 in the Finney Concert Hall on the campus of A&M Commerce.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, each Nature Connection Walk will be an immersive time spent connecting with nature in our wildlife sanctuary. They will include guided activities done while walking, standing, and/or sitting along our trails. The trails and guided activities will change each month, making each walk a fresh experience. Join us and discover how much spending intentional time connecting with nature can improve your life.
The Taste of Commerce is a downtown festival showcasing local eateries and live music.
Ticketed guests will be able to sample tastes from 15 restaurants set up on the lawn between Main and Alamo Streets and vote for the "Best" in the following categories: Beverage, Savory Dish, Sweet Treat, and Taste in Commerce - Overall.
Everyone is invited to hear live music performed by the Commerce Middle School Junior Jazz Cats, Commerce High School Jazz Cats, and the TAMU-Commerce Panimation steel drum band. Plenty of seating will be available.
And for the youngest, the Commerce Chamber of Commerce is providing free bounce houses on the lawn between Main Street and Bonham Alley.
Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships benefit the Commerce ISD band program.

Jewellee Kuenstler, Director of the Museum of the West Texas Frontier in Stamford, Texas, will present a program on her book called "Heavy Date Over Germany." It features the memoirs of Ray Perry, a B-17 Flying Fortress tailgunner; he was just 18 years old at the time he began missions out of England in 1944. By the end of the war he had completed 37 flights over enemy territory. He is the father of former Texas governor Rick Perry.
The public is invited to attend the program at 7 p.m., in the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum in Greenville. Admission is free.

Homeschool families and groups from across north Texas are invited to Homeschool Day at the Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site in Paris on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, homeschool students, teachers, and parents can enjoy educational programs from local organizations, games, and more.
Admission to the event is only $1.00 for each person, which includes access to all activities and presentations.

Bread of Life Food Pantry distributes free food to those in need. Family and Senior Commodity Boxes available at all distributions. Located at 301 Hwy 224, Commerce, TX. Most boxes consist of canned vegetables, rice, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, juice, and canned meat. We also offer frozen meat, bread and fresh produce when in stock. New clients bring a photo ID and proof of address. For example, current utility bill. Our distribution days are the first Friday after the first Wednesday 10:00am – 2:00pm for seniors 60 plus, and everyone younger from 12:00pm – 2:00pm and on the 3rd Wed of the month from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. We also offer Emergency Boxes to families who can’t wait for a distribution day. Volunteers and donations are always welcome. Thank you. Second Saturday Bird Walks in the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary are offered by volunteers from the Prairie & Timbers Audubon Society (PTAS). These bird walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. There are also plenty of opportunities provided for participants to ask questions from experienced birders. Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks.
