Greenville residents be advised: It is only a test

Greenville – A Greenville facility is advising residents that what you may hear tomorrow morning is only a test. F-16 fighter aircrafts will be flying low Saturday morning as part of a test with the city's L-3 IS facility. Those flights will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

TAMU-C to host volleyball semifinals tonight

Commerce –

Texas A&M University-Commerce plays host this evening to the region 2 volleyball semifinals. Lucas Lovejoy and White Oak will square off at 6 p.m. They'll be followed by Royse City and Athens at 8 p.m. The winners will advance to play one another tomorrow night in the region 2 finals. Both tonight and tomorrow's matches will be held at the A&M Commerce Field House.

Daughter of WW II POW speaks at TAMU-C

Betty Bryant spoke at the 16th Veteran's Vigil at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Bryant is the daughter of Rufus Bryant, who during World War II was a prisoner of war of the Japanese. Bryant's speech spoke of her father and made reference to Kelly Strong's poem Freedom is not Free.

Greenville –

A Texas A&M Unviersity-Commerce student was among the crowd to brave the weather and camp out in Greenville - All for free chicken.

Senior Joseph Bustamante says it was truly a unique experience waiting for Chick-Fil-A to open. Bustamante was one of 100 people to receive a free meal and get a years supply of coupons. He and two other friends showed up nearly 13 hours before the restaurant opened.

New traffic signal in Greenville

Greenville – Greenville motorists will soon have to deal with a new traffic signal. The Texas Department of Transportation plans to activate the flashing light by later this month. The new traffic light will be located along Jack Finney Boulevard at the intersection of Airpark Avenue.

Greenville achieves record-setting month

Greenville – The city of Greenville has achieved another record month of sales tax revenue. Local merchants continue to set records despite slow sales. Reports show Greenville received a sales tax payment of about 483 thousand dollars in November.

CHS volleyball season ends,<BR>Region semifinals set at A&M-Commerce

Commerce, TX –

The Commerce High School volleyball's team run the post season came to a close Tuesday night in Rockwall. The Tigers fell in five games to Lucas Lovejoy. CHS finished with a season record of 35-7.

Lovejoy advances to the Region 2 semifinals Friday night at the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse against White Oak. That winner will take on either Royse City or Athens. Royse City advanced with a five game win over Frisco Wakeland.

Friday night's semifinals begin at 6 p.m.

Chick-Fil-A comes to Greenville

Greenville – Greenville will be a little tastier starting Thursday. Restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A comes to Greenville. The company will be giving away 26 thousand dollars in free Chick-Fil-A food for the first 100 adults in line Thursday morning.

Commerce – Veterans will be honored in Commerce today. The 16th annual Veteran's Vigil takes place today on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus. The event runs Wednesday through Friday.
