Attempted abduction in Commerce

Commerce – Commerce police have issued a press release concerning an attempted abduction of a 13 year old girl over the weekend. The incident occurred near the 1200 block of Live Oak Street Sunday when the suspect pulled up along side the victim and tried to lure her into his car. He followed her for about two blocks but left when she refused to get into the car.

GEUS set to approve budget

Greenville – An area electric utility will be approving its budget this week. GEUS is about to commence on one of its most ambitious capital improvement plans in recent years. More than $6 million in improvements are included in the budget.

New regulations for apartment complexes in Greenville

Greenville – There will be more garages in Greenville soon. New regulations passed Tuesday require at least half of the residents in future multi-family complexes have a garage to park their vehicles.

Bond reduction denied in Greenville

Greenville – A judge has denied bond in connection with an alleged armed robbery in Greenville. Bond reduction has been denied for Nicholas Dewayne Terry who is charged with a robbery in Greenville that left one man shot several times.

Hunt County Jail escapee gets 25 more years

Greenville – A Greenville man was sentenced to a longer term for trying to escape from jail. Terrell Kenyon Davis pled guilty Monday to felony escape, and received 20 years on top of an existing 45 year sentence for aggravated robbery, assault, and kidnapping.
