Greenville – Jury selection for Lola Danielle Cherry begins Monday in the 354th District Court.
Cherry has pleaded not guilty. Cherry is alleged to have placed a baby wipe inside the throat of an infant.
The case was originally scheduled for May before a motion was made to disqualify 196th District Court Judge Steve Tittle from presiding. Tittle, then an assistance district attorney, was a prosecutor in an earlier felony offense in which Cherry was the victim.
Hopkins County – The excessive heat is not only taking its toll on the dry Texas land, but the firefighters who work to protect it. Local emergency crews have been making adjustments to how they respond during this recent stretch of consecutive 100-degree days.
