Delta County church gives final service

Delta County – After 70 years, Lake Creek First United Methodist Church closed its doors this past Sunday.

The church was forced to close due to lack of attendance. In fact, there hasn't been a service there since January.

Lake Creek FUMC held its initial service on Mother's Day, 1941. The building and land will likely be sold, and members will hold a special meeting soon to decide the distribution of the inside furnishings.

Most former church members will continue at the Methodist church in Enloe or Cooper.
