I-30 construction grows

Greenville – The work will require various lane closures and some delays should be expected. Beginning Monday, a permeable friction course mat will be placed on eastbound Interstate 30 from Division Street to the Hopkins County Line. The work will reduce the interstate down to one lane for several miles at a time. Drivers can expect various daytime and nighttime lane closures on eastbound Interstate 30 over the next few weeks while this work is completed in the eastern portion of Hunt County.

Flavors abound at inaugural street festival to benefit charities at The Shops at Highland Village

Audie Murphy Day to be presented with new early morning hours

Local hospital district gets upgrade


Greenville – Beginning Monday, Open Imaging of Greenville joins the Hunt Regional Medical Center (HRMC) family to provide better service for customers.

Hunt Regional Open Imaging (HROI) will become the primary location for out-patient imaging services for hospital.

"This new partnership is important to the people of our service area - including our physician community - because it significantly strengthens continuity of care," said Richard Carter, CEO of Hunt Regional Healthcare (HRH).

Collin County child killed in car wreck

Collin County – A 9 year old Collin County child was killed when a wrecker slammed into the back of the car in which she was riding. Officials say the car had mechanical problems and was slowing to a stop or stalled in the center lane of the road when the truck hit and crushed the back of the car where the girl was seated.

The girl's sister and mother were also injured in the collision.

Police continue to investigate to determine if charges will be filed against the man

Lamar County Crime Stoppers hold annual fundraiser


Paris – The 22nd Annual Lamar County Crime Stoppers Ranch Rodeo is Saturday in Paris.

The event is the biggest fundraiser for the Lamar County Crime Stoppers who, with the public's help, have arrested more than 1,800 individuals, cleared over 3,400 cases and the paid out over $270,000 in rewards.
