Hunt County drug distributor arrested

Hunt County – A Campbell man has been arrested in connection with a major drug distribution operation.

The Hunt County Sheriff's Office is reporting it has arrested Wesley Shane Ashley, who was believed to be a major supplier of illegal drugs in Hunt County. Ashley was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with seven separate felony counts, and was being held in the Hunt County Jail in lieu of a total of $152,000 bond.

Families to be honored at Greenville ceremony

Greenville – Texas A&M University-Commerce President Dan Jones is among the speakers at a special ceremony honoring families in Greenville.

Jerry and Brenda Speight along with more than two dozen Hunt County families will be honored Saturday during the first Jerry and Brenda Family Affair Awards are scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, at the Hope Center, 2615 Crockett Street, located next to First Baptist Church in Greenville.

L-3 in Greenville cuts portion of workforce

Greenville – One of Greenville's largest employers, L-3 Communications Integrated Systems, has announced they've laid-off about 50 workers.

A spokesman for the company confirmed to KETR Friday the company has terminated about 50, or one percent of its more than 5,000 employees, effective immediately.

In what the company calls a workforce shaping measure, the cuts are necessary to balance workforce skills mix to meet customer demand and maintain competitiveness.
