Austin – The Associated Press is reporting they've found thousands of dollars in questionable travel expenses accrued by State Representative for District 2 Dan Flynn (R-Van).
The funds include more than $11,000 that were billed both to taxpayers and his political campaign.
According to the AP, Flynn had no immediate explanation for the bills from fancy hotels and other costs, most from out-of-state travel, described as political travel at one agency and then official state business at another.
Hugo – Police in Hugo, Oklahoma are investigation the shooting of a Paris man.
27-year-old Marquis Duty was shot in the face as he was parking his vehicle at an apartment complex. Duty drove himself to the hospital and was later flown to a hospital in Oklahoma City. He is expected to fully recover.
Police have yet to identify any suspects in the case.
Greenville – A Dallas man is alleged to have posed as a lawyer in more than 20 Texas courtrooms, including ones in Hunt and Collin counties.
42-year-old Jeffrey Scott Partlow is currently serving a contempt of court jail sentence after appearing intoxicated in the Hunt County Court at Law #1 in October, as he attempted to represent a client in a misdemeanor case.
Greenville – Two of the suspects allegedly involved in the robbery of a Quinlan-area game room in February are each facing up to eight felony counts, seven of which could result in a life sentence.
25-year-old Darreus Demont Williams of Van Alstyne and 29-year-old Guadalupe Ramirez III of Greenville have each been indicted on six counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, one count of aggravated assault against a public servant and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
