Commerce – Eleven women face charges stemming from an unusual amount of theft over a 48 hour stretch at the Commerce Wal-Mart. The charges stem from four separate cases. Six of the women, who list an address on the campus of A&M-Commerce, face an additional charge of engaging in criminal activity. Three of the other suspects were said to be from Commerce, while the remaining two lists addresses in San Antonio and Farmersville.
– Severe weather wreaked havoc on the Northeast Texas region this weekend, with hours of showers and thunderstorms and some tornadoes reported.
Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a developing tornado near West Tawakoni and moving east, leading to the issuance of tornado warnings for Hunt County, and eventually Rains, Hopkins, Wood, Franklin and Titus counties.
Paris – Just two days after an arrest in Sunday's armed robbery at the Vallero convenience store in Paris, three more men are arrested in connection last week's robbery at a bank drive thru.
The robbery happened last Thursday at the Bank of America on Clarksville Street. Detectives say one suspect walked up to a vehicle and fired a shotgun through the driver's window and demanded money. Two other suspects were with the gunman.
