Rockwall Police are looking for a man that robbed a convenience store with what he claimed was an explosive device. The man left the store at Ridge Road and I-30 with a manila envelope full of cash after showing the cashier an object with wires sticking out of his pocket that the man claimed was some sort of bomb.

A&M-Commerce commencement tomorrow

Commerce – A&M-Commerce is set to graduate more than 1,000 students at Commencement ceremonies tomorrow. Four separate ceremonies will be held at the University Auditorium in the Ferguson Social Sciences Building. Chancellor of the A&M System Dr. Robert "Bob" McTeer will be speaking at the two morning ceremonies, while A&M-Commerce alum William L. Crabtree Jr. will speak at the two afternoon ceremonies.

Election day tomorrow

Commerce – It's Election Day tomorrow. In Commerce, there will be no city election, but two spots are up for grabs on the Commerce ISD School Board.

For Place 6, 12 year incumbent Debbie Akin faces challengers Kay Townsend and Chris Vaughan. Robert Rabb and Medley Wilson are both vying for Place 7 on the board. Incumbent Mitchell Scott did not file for re-election.

Voting will be held from 7am to 7pm at the Commerce Middle School.

Check with your local officials for polling places in your area.

Commerce, Celeste lose baseball playoff games

Commerce – Commerce drops there first game of a 3-game baseball playoff series to Bonham, 7-5 last night in McKinney. The Purple Warriors jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings of the game, to set Commerce in comeback mode all evening, which they were not able to achieve. Game two of the series is Saturday at 4pm in McKinney.

Fannin County Fan Drive

Fannin County – The Fannin County Family Crisis Center and the Bonham Police Department are joining forces to sponsor this year's Summer Fan Drive. It will be the seventh year of the event that looks to provide needy citizens with fans for the summer. More than 400 fans have been given away over the past six years.

Pressure mounts on Hunt County Sheriff

Hunt County – Hunt County Judge Joe Bobbitt issued a letter Tuesday demanding Sheriff Don Anderson produce an official bond required by local government code, according to the Greenville Herald Banner. The issue of the existence of the bond has been a point of contention since $17,000 was reported missing from the Hunt County Sheriff's office.

Sheriff Don Anderson says he has the bond, but has not produced it for the Commissioner's Court. Anderson said there are more important things worry about, such as protecting citizens.

Teen faces 40 years in prison

Lake Worth – A teenager from Lake Worth faces up to 40 years in prison after being convicted of shooting his grandmother. The 17 year old was tried as a juvenile. He was convicted of shooting his grandmother in the back of the head after forcing her to write a suicide note. Prosecutors said the teen was angry because he thought his grandmother disposed of one of his marijuana plants.

Last day for early voting

Hunt County – Today is the last day for early voting for the May 13th elections. Little interest has been shown in the elections so far, with just 277 early votes cast through the Hunt County Voter Administration Office. The office oversees elections for seven cities, six school districts, and the Hunt Memorial Hospital District.

Early voting is scheduled to continue through 5pm today at the Hunt County Voter Administration Office in downtown Greenville.

Commerce, Celeste in baseball playoffs

Commerce – Commerce Tigers Baseball begins playoff action tonight. The District 11-3A champion Tigers bring a 16-7 record into its series against Bonham. Bonham finished 3rd in District 9-3A. The best of three series between the teams begins tonight at 7pm at Al Alford Field at the McKinney High School. Games two and three, if necessary, are set for this Saturday starting at 4pm in McKinney.

Missing Greenville woman found

Greenville – A Greenville woman reported missing last week has been found. Lorna Mitchell was reported missing last week when her daughter had not seen her since April 29th, and the public was asked for assistance in locating the woman. Mitchell was located unharmed and has been reunited with her family.
