Get hypnotized tonight!

Commerce – A world renowned hypnotist will be working his magic on the A&M-Commerce campus tonight. Over 20,000 people worldwide have been hypnotized by Michael C. Anthony, who makes an appearance tonight in the Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center. The first 30 audience members will be hypnotized by Anthony, who can put someone under with just the snap of a finger. His performances are described as an avant-garde blend of human psyche and eye-popping theater.

Body found in Bonham

Bonham – Bonham Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found along the side of Highway 121, according to North Texas E-News. The body was found near the city limits, south of Bonham. 55 year old Richard Chism was found by Texas Department of Transportation employees who were doing road work in the area.

Police say there is no evidence of foul play, but the body has been sent to Dallas for autopsy.

Commerce now has fine and warrant payment online

Commerce – Commerce residents can now pay traffic tickets or outstanding warrants online. The Commerce City Council voted in regular session last week to allow the Commerce courts to begin accepting credit card payments online. There will be a 3% processing fee for all such transactions.

Merchant's Fair tomorrow

Commerce – The 21st Annual Merchant's Fair is set for tomorrow on the A&M-Commerce campus. About 40 Commerce merchants are expected to attend the fair that gives A&M-Commerce students and faculty the chance to become familiar with area businesses. Food samples, coupons, and cash prizes are some of the highlights at the event sponsored by both the Commerce Chamber and A&M-Commerce.

The event begins tomorrow at 10am in the Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center on the A&M-Commerce campus.

Special election in Wolfe City puts two new faces on city council

Wolfe City – Wolfe City has two new faces on the city council. Rodney Swinson and Stephanie Sheets won the seats in special election Saturday. Earlier resignations by David Caldwell and Wanda Dawson left the seats open. Former Wolfe City Mayor Johnny Lloyd was also in the running for one of the two unexpired terms.

Voting was held in the community room of the Wolfe City fire station. Final tallies had Swinson with 127 votes, Sheets with 124 votes, and Lloyd with 31 votes.

Tigers continue winning roll in Bonham

Bonham – The Commerce Tigers picked up another win in commanding fashion over Bonham, 33-0. The Tigers held the Bonham Purple Warriors scoreless in Friday's game, and had an impressive offensive output. The passing attack seemed to gel as quarterback Zach Boles threw for 216 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Boles also added two rushing touchdowns on the night. Receiver Jonathan Cox emerged as the go-to guy for the nights, hauling in 6 catches for 108 yards.

A&M-Commerce picks up first win of season

Commerce – The A&M-Commerce Lions picked up their first win of the season this weekend, stunning Midwestern State 27-25. The Lions took a 20-6 lead at the half and maintained the comfortable lead with a 27-12 advantage going into the 4th quarter. But the Midwestern State Indians rallied in the 4th with scoring drives of 80 and 41 yards, bringing the score to 27-25, with the Lions stopping a two point conversion that would have tied the game.

Commerce Tigers, A&M-Commerce Lions ready for more football

Commerce –
COMMERCE TIGERS

The Commerce Tigers hit the once again to face the Bonham Purple Warriors. The Tigers are coming off an electrifying win in the last minutes over 4-A Paris last week. Commerce is undefeated so far on the season and Bonham dropped their first game of the season last week to Sanger 20-17 after going up by 17 points initially.

In last season's game, Bonham jumped to an 18-8 lead in the first half, but Commerce rallied to take the victory 21-18.
