Reporter, host of 'All Things Considered'

Daniel was born and raised in Commerce, TX, and has been a life-long listener of 88.9 KETR. After listening to ‘The Art of Sound’ with Mark Chapman as a child, he enjoyed the thought of being able to broadcast across NE Texas.  He is now a Radio/Television student at Texas A&M University-Commerce and hopes to continue his work in radio after he graduates. He currently can be heard as the host of ‘All Things Considered’, ‘Movie Picks with Alice Reese’ and ‘The Morning Bell’.

Jefferies: 'We'll live with it and move on'

Greenville Independent School District has been placed in a new district after the recent "reclassification and realignment" conducted by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).

This recent change will make Greenville ISD have to travel significantly further than in their past, and Superintendent Don Jefferies talks with Daniel Starks about what that means for the district on The Morning Bell.

How much snowfall will you get?

The snow is here and leaving its mark, so how much are you expected to get?

Some locally heavier amounts are possible throughout the day.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is expecting that most of the snow will end from the Southwest to the Northeast after noon today. With the high being below freezing, however, any accumulations should stay throughout the day.

Snow on the roadways may melt away this afternoon depending on their frequency of use, but KETR has already gotten reports of slick spots  so please exercise caution when driving.

Celeste Police chief dies of gunshot wound

While facing charges of sexual assault, Celeste Police Chief Roger Eugene Mueller III has died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

According to the Greenville Herald-Banner, police got a call of a gunshot victim at Mueller's home at around 7:45 p.m. Monday night. He was transported to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, where he died shortly after.

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks tells the Herald-Banner that Texas Rangers have taken over the investigation.

Hunt, Delta, and Lamar counties were added to the Advisory area.

The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Weather Advisory to include Hunt, Delta and Lamar counties in our region until 9 pm Sunday night.

Another cold snap is on the way to North Texas, and this time it could bring some wintry weather with it.

A Winter Weather Advisory has already been issued for Collin, Rockwall, and Fannin counties from 6 am to 9 pm Sunday.

Double shooting reported in Royse City

UPDATE, Jan. 31,  4:15 p.m. 

Officials have identified Kara Elizabeth Croop, 33, as the victim in the Jan. 31. Police said that her husband, Scott Croop, 39, shot her in the street outside of their home on the 400 block of Cookston Lane before shooting himself. Scott Croop was pronounced dead on the scene, while Kara Croop was severely wounded and transported to a Dallas hospital, officials said.

Beaty: 'I'm not ready to say goodbye to Algebra II'

The Texas State Board of Education on Thursday voted to drop Algebra II from the required curriculum for high schoolers. This comes at a time where many states are starting to do the exact opposite by adding Algebra II to their required curriculum.
