John Mark Dempsey

Announcer/Reporter/Host

Dr. John Mark Dempsey is an associate professor of radio-television at A&M-Commerce, part of the department of Literature and Languages.  He works part-time as a news announcer-producer for the Texas State Network in Dallas.  Dr. Dempsey was the first student to broadcast on KETR back in 1975 and was also the first person to broadcast Commerce Tigers football on the station (as a student.)

I went to Washington, D.C. recently for an academic conference – one of those conclaves where you present your brilliant scholarly insights to a room of 15 other Deep Thinkers.

Perhaps you’ve seen a commercial recently on TV. (Given the highly targeted nature of advertising today, it probably helps if you frequent the news and sports channels viewed by middle-aged men like me.) 

I felt a certain guilt in watching the search for the two alleged Boston Marathon bombers:  I enjoyed it.
