Outdoors writer/radio host/book author Luke Clayton has been addicted to everything outdoors related since his childhood when he grew up hunting and fishing in rural northeast Texas. Luke pens a weekly newspaper column that appears in 34 Texas newspapers and is Editor at Large for Extreme Hog Hunter Magazine, Bowhunting Adventures and East Texas Outdoors Magazine and field editor for Dallas Safari Club "Camp Talk" publication.  Luke is on the pro staff of Mathews Bows, Smokin' Tex Electric Smokers, and GhostBlind. Follow his columns and listen to his weekly radio show throughout the year and you'll surely get exposed to many facets of the outdoor life.

This week, Luke visits with Lake Fork largemouth bass guide Larry Large ( www.huntingeasttexas.com) and discovers some of the guide's "secret" lakes within a short drive of Fork. Fork remains an excellent bass lake but Large has learned that many of his clients enjoy fishing some of the smaller lakes that are currently providing some excellent fishing.

This week, Lake Tawakoni catfish guide David Hanson (903-268-7391) joins Luke and talks about catching blue catfish during a time of plenty when the bite is changing from "trophy" season during the winter months to now, when large numbers of "eater" size catfish are the norm. On a trip earlier this week, Luke and his daughter Ashley with family friend Karrissa joined Hanson for some fast paced catfish action and left the dock with 5 gallons of snow white blue catfish fillets. Will and Luke discuss the recent ruling by the Texas Agricultural Commission to allow Warfarin to kill hogs in Texas. If the use of poison is allowed, companies that currently process wild hogs may have to close their doors. Hog trappers may also be put out of business as there will be no market for the hogs.
