Commerce – $1 million has been approved by the State of Texas for the construction engineering program at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
State Representative Mark Homer, of Paris, made the announcement this weekend, following approval by the Budget Conference Committee for the proposed Texas legislative budget.
The budget will now move to the Senate and House for final approval and on to the desk of the Governor for signature.
Representative Homer said the legislature's commitment to the university speaks volumes about what an important project this is for the community.
