Chrysler has made public the hundreds of U.S. dealerships it plans to close down, including 12 in North Texas.
Dealerships in Greenville, Sulphur Springs, Paris and Mt Pleasant managed to escape the list. McKinney, Canton, Dallas, Denison, Richardson and Tyler are among area cities that were not so lucky.
The list was made public in a bankruptcy filing Thursday, a strategy that Chrysler hopes might help save the company but unfortunately wipe out thousands of jobs.
A total of 50 dealerships across Texas are being forced to close by June 9. The 789 total number of dealerships to shut down is 25 percent of Chrysler's network.
