150 protestors show in Paris

By Scott Harvey

Paris – About 150 protestors showed up Monday in Paris to express their anger of the dismissal of murder charges against two white men accused of fatally killing a black man.

Protestors staged the rally outside the Lamar County Courthouse. Members of the Nation of Islam and the New Black Panther Party were among the participants, who said they wanted to show their anger at a pattern of unequal justice for whites and blacks in Paris.

Last week a special prosecutor, citing a lack of evidence, had charges dismissed against Shannon Finley and Ryan Crostley, who were accused of killing their friend Brandon McClelland. His mangled body was found Sept. 16 on a country road.

The suspects were released from jail Thursday.
