Commerce – A tobacco sting operation by the Commerce Police Department, in conjunction with Greenville PD, found all but one business in compliance.
The remaining 18 stores that sell tobacco products in the city were found to be in compliance of the law.
The stores were visited by a minor, acting within the guidelines of Commerce PD, who attempted to purchase tobacco products.
The operation allows police to measure how such establishments within the city are run and where there may be problems.
