20-year-old dies at Fannin County lake

FANNIN COUNTY - Texas Game Wardens are investigating a drowning at Bonham State Park Lake that reportedly occurred while a man was swimming with family members.

The name of the 20-year-old victim has not been released.

Officials say the man wasn’t far from shore when he went under Saturday afternoon. His body was recovered about an hour later.

The 65-acre lake is located southeast of Bonham and is 19 feet at its lowest point, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
