2016 Cotton Harvest Festival Highlights

The first ever Delta County Cotton Harvest Festival was deemed a “huge success” or in other words it was a "cotton pickin' good time" by organizers and the over 1,000 attending filling the Square in Cooper.

The event included a 5K Run/2 Mile Walk, Lion’s Club Pancake Breakfast, Health Fair, Pet Parade, Cotton Ginning and Spinning Demonstrations, Hip Hop Amusement carnival, over 54 vendors with foods ranging from corn dogs to funnel cakes and more, LiSher Dancers, cotton bales on display and a first bale auction with lots of other great auction items, face painting, live music all day by 2 Gun Justice, Dewayne Stailey, Dusty Newman and from America’s Got Talent - Kadie Lynn and highlighted by Texas Country Artist Josh Ward, including a beer garden in the evening.

The first bale of cotton was auctioned and brought in $8,000 to go back towards this same event to be held again next year.
It was sponsored by the Delta County Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Delta County Economic Development Corporation. These volunteers appreciate the support those donating time, hard work and moneys to make this community-building event happen.
