2nd public meeting tonight on standardized dress code at GISD

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – The Greenville ISD will be holding the second of three public meetings tonight aimed at gathering input into a proposed standardized dress code. Fewer than a dozen people attended the first scheduled meeting. Members of the committee assigned to gather information on the proposed dress code have said the dress could have positive impact on discipline, TAKS scores, and the overall atmosphere on the campuses. Some citizens have expressed displeasure with the guideline that questions must be submitted in writing in advance to be considered during the question and answer portion of the meeting.

Tonight's meeting will be at Carver Elementary School in Greenville at 7pm. The third public meeting to discuss the standardized dress code will be December 8th at Lamar Elementary School.
