GREENVILLE - A Kaufman woman’s appeal will be heard next week concerning her 450 year prison sentence in a child sexual assault case out of Hunt County.
Last September, a judge ordered some of Misty Laverna Dale Mayo’s sentences to run concurrently, with others to run consecutively. She is not eligible for release on parole until she’s served at least 75 years in prison.
Mayo entered open pleas of guilty last summer on multiple indictments to indecency with a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child. She also admitted to setting two of the children on fire. No plea bargain had been arranged in the case.
On June 4th, the Sixth District Court of Appeals in Texarkana will hear the case.
