911 services down in Hopkins County

SULPHUR SPRINGS - Hopkins County dispatch is reporting that a total equipment failure occurred overnight resulting in the loss of 911  fire and  law enforcement service in the county.

Callers should phone 903-885-8681 in the event of an emergency. Callers should be very specific, because there is no caller ID or routing information available on the computer screens.

Attempts to re-route 911 calls to the Sulphur Springs police department had been unsuccessful as of 9 a.m. AT&T and Verizon have been notified as well as Ark-Tex Council of Government Emergency Communications specialists. There has been no estimate on how long it will take to fix the problems.
