Commerce – The new A.C. Williams Elementary School in Commerce is beginning to take shape as contractors are now in their fourth month of construction.
The Commerce School Board Monday received an update on the project, which addressed the recent placement of all concrete grade beams, and current pavement of the front parent drop-off area.
More site grading will continue, plus the finalizing of all underground utilities. In the near future, crews will begin to place concrete pier caps and lying out the under floor plumbing and electrical.
The $14 million facility, to house third through fifth graders, is currently 20% complete and projected to be done by fall 2009.
