Accidents claim lives in Paris

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – Two separate traffic accidents have claimed the lives of a Paris man and a Paris High School student.

The Paris News reports 48 year old Paul Ray Reynolds was killed late Friday in a two-car accident along Highway 24 just north of Cooper. Reports say he failed to stop for a turning vehicle that was pulling a horse trailer, hit the trailer, and veered off the roadway. Reynolds was wearing his seatbelt, but was still ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries. He died later at a hospital.

An 18 year old Paris high School student was killed around 2am Saturday in a one-vehicle accident near Bagwell. Jimmy William Craighead was a passenger when the vehicle he was in ran into a ditch, hit a steep embankment, rolled over, and hit a tree. Craighead was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver and another passenger were taken from the scene in stable condition.
