Greenville – Dr. Kristi Compton, a forensic psychologist hired by Ward's defense team testified Monday that Ward suffered from a "shared psychotic disorder" which he received from his father and that Ward's mental status might improve if he was removed from access to the father and placed in an environment where he could receive treatment and medications.
Compton said while Ward "factually" understands the trial process in which he is involved, he does not have a "rational" understanding.
