Greenville – The Greenville City Council Tuesday approved an industrial development agreement with FSTI rather than annex the business into the city limits.
In exchange the company will make an annual payment to the city and provide other considerations.
FSTI had filed the petition for voluntary annexation as the company is located in the city's extra-territorial jurisdiction and is tied into the city's water and sewer system. The Council granted the annexation petition in October, but took no action to proceed with the annexation itself.
Fluid Solution Technology Incorporated is the anchor tenant of the industrial park off of U.S. Highway 380 just west of the city. They plan to operate a salt-refining facility on 10 acres of the property.
