Alcohol Awareness Week at A&M-Commerce

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – The Counseling Center on the A&M-Commerce campus is offering events all week to mark National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week. A beer goggles remote control obstacle course will be conducted today from 11am to 1pm on the East Lawn of the campus. The course is a dramatic simulation of what it is like to drive under the influence of alcohol as students drive remote controlled cars through an obstacle course.

Students will be asked to make alcohol-related pledges tomorrow, an alcohol screening open to the community will be conducted Thursday in the Memorial Student Center from 11am to 1pm, and Mocktails will be served at Club Illuminati at Whitley Hall directly following the homecoming bonfire. Non-alcoholic version of popular drinks will be served in the club-like atmosphere.

For more information on any of the activities, contact the Counseling Center at 903.886.5145.
