Alice cautiously recommends 'Ted 2'

Ted and John are back in Ted 2, and they're still thunder buddies for life.
Universal Pictures

This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, Alice reviews Ted 2, the sequel to the 2012 movie about a foul-mouthed teddy bear, Testament of Youth, a beautiful look at WWI through a female's perspective, Escobar: Paradise Lost, starring Benicio del Toro as the infamous Pablo Escobar, and Gemma Bovery, a comical take on the classic Madame Bovary.

Ted 2 stars Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg as a teddy bear and his best friend, respectively. The movie follows the events of the original, as Ted has married the charming Tami-Lynn, played by Jessica Barth. Amanda Seyfried joins the cast as the lawyer they hire to help Ted become human in the eyes of the law.

Testament of Youth stars Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington in a story of young love, war, and coping with dark times in life. The movie is based on an autobiography written by Vera Brittain.

Escobar: Paradise Lost is the story a young man on a surfing trip to Colombia where he finds his perfect woman, except for one thing.. she's Pablo Escobar's niece. Josh Hutcherson plays the young surfer, Nick, who gets tangled up in Escobar's personal and professional business.

Gemma Bovery is a French drama filmed based on a graphic novel of the same name. The story follows the Bovery couple as they move to a small village and their neighbor becomes convinced their lives are destined to follow the plot of the classic novel Madame Bovary. It stars Fabrice Luchini, Gemma Arterton, and Jason Flemyng.
