Alice highly recommends live-action 'Cinderella'

This year's Cinderella takes us deeper into the characters in the classic story of our childhood.
Disney

This week Alice reviews Cinderella, Disney's live-action take on their classic animated movie, Run All Night, starring Liam Neeson and Ed Harris, and 71, which follows a young British soldier abandoned by his unit in Northern Ireland.

Cinderella was directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Lily James, Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett, and Helena Bonham Carter. Alice liked this movie a lot, and didn't necessarily think she would when she went in to the screening. Disney also has some throwbacks to the original, including the loveable mouse Gus. Run All Night is an action movie about a mobster and hit-man who has one night to decide if his loyalties lie with his longtime friend or his estranged son. Alice says it has a very strong cast and it looks great, but she was less than impressed with the script. 71 stars Jack O'Connell, who recently starred in Angelina Jolie's movie Unbroken. Alice believes it was very well done, and she would highly recommend finding this movie and seeing it.

You can listen to Movie Picks with Alice Reese every Friday during All Things Considered at 4:50 and 5:50 PM on your station, 88.9 KETR.
