Alice previews upcoming movies

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the sequel to The Avengers (2012).
Marvel Studios

This week Alice previews some of the mega-movies (and some not so mega) coming our way this spring and summer.

The biggest one is Avengers: Age of Ultron, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and James Spader, with many others involved. The Avengers are taking on a monster of their own creation (or at least one of their own), and there are some newcomers with some special powers.

Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth in the Mad Max Series, and Tom Hardy replaces Mel Gibson in the title role. Also in the movie, Charlize Theron, Zoe Kravitz and Nicholas Hoult. It's rated R for violence, but it looks tough and impressive.

Tomorrowland is the latest movie from Disney and Brad Bird. There's not much known about the premise and plot to the movie, because its being kept way silent. We do know, however, that it does star George Clooney, Britt Robertson, and Hugh Laurie.

Monkey Kingdom is the latest Disney Nature movie. It follows a mother monkey and her baby as they try to find a place to be. It's rated G so it is definitely family friendly, and it is narrated by Tina Fey.

Little Boy might not be the biggest blockbuster, but it's a moving story about a little boy who believes he can will his father back home from the war. Jakob Salvoti, Tom Wilkinson, and Kevin James star.

The Water Divineris the first feature length movie by director Russell Crowe. It's set in 1919 in Istanbul. Alice thinks it sounds interesting.

Slow West is not slow at all, at least that's what Alice says. It's about a Scottish young man traveling across the American frontier in search of the woman he loves.

Spy is the latest Melissa McCarthy comedy. Alice thinks the cast looks great. It is rated R for some raunchier bits, but it looks very funny.

So many movies, but don't stress you've got a while to see all of them. Here's the expanded version of today's Movie Picks with Alice Reese.
