Alicia Moore: Celebrating a life

Dallas Morning News

Friends and family of the late Alicia Chanta Moore plan to gather this weekend to celebrate her life, on what would have been Moore’s 17th birthday.
A party is being held in honor of Moore, a Greenville teenager whose November murder remains unsolved.

“The Alicia Moore Memorial Block Party” is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of Gibbons Street in Greenville. Should there be rain Saturday, the event will be moved to the Landmark on Lee Street, 2920 Lee Street.

Organizers said the free event will include a DJ and food and will feature music including 90s, hip-hop, reggae and more.

Moore was last seen on the afternoon of Nov. 2, 2012, getting off of a school bus at the intersection of Bourland and Walnut Streets in Greenville, a short distance from her home.

Her body was found  four days later along FM 47 in Van Zandt County and the Greenville Police Department has joined with multiple other agencies in conducting a homicide investigation in the case.
