Alumni Center holds grand opening

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – Another major celebration took place Friday on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce with the grand opening of the Alumni Center.

Staff moved into the new facility last October, which encompasses 6,500 sq. feet. The more than $1 million building was made possible through donations from A&M-Commerce alumni.

Many departments have already begun to utilize the space the new Alumni Center offers, such alumni gatherings, board meetings, and conferences.

Speaking at Friday's event were Director of Alumni Relations Derryle Peace, Alumni Board President Dwight York, Student Government President Byron Johnson, and A&M Commerce president Dr. Dan Jones.

Complete audio from Friday's ceremony is available by visiting ketr.org/podcasts.
