Commerce – The 2005 NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships begin this Thursday, with four individuals and a relay team will be representing A&M-Commerce at the event. Delrick Taylor will be competing in the 100 and 200 meter, as well as running the second leg of the 400 meter relay. Taylor qualified seventh in the 100, and 25th in the 200.
Levi Organa will also be running in the 100, having qualified 25th, and provides the anchor leg for the Lion relay team. The 4x100 relay team, that qualified eighth with a best time of 40.78, has Tommie Jemerson on the leadoff leg and Greg Strickland on the third leg.
Lion Thrower Marques McCullogh qualified in both the discus and shot put for the Lions, while Steven Stevens is eighth in the hammer throw.
The championships start this Thursday in Abilene and run through this Saturday.
