Commerce – 13 Texas A&M University-Commerce student athletes have recently been recognized as inaugural recipients of the Division II Athletic Directors Association (DII ADA) Academic Achievement Awards.
The award recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, have attended the nominating institution a minimum of two years (or four semesters) and have been an active member of his or her intercollegiate team during the 2007-08 academic year.
Sixty-seven NCAA D-II institutions participated in the program this year with 2,188 student-athletes honored.
