A&M-Commerce athletics alumni honored by LSC

Commerce, TX – Honored by the Lone Star Conference were Delmer Brown, who coached A&M-Commerce to five Lone Star Conference track titles and was also an athletic trainer. John Carlos was a member of the U.S. Olympic Team in 1968, where he won a bronze in the 200, then went on to play in the NFL and CFL, and was inducted into the U.S. National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2003. Charles Holding was a four-time Lone Star Conference champion in the high jump. And R.L. Lasater was a three-time conference champion in the 100 and 200 and a member of three league winning relay teams.

The Lone Star Conference is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year with a tribute to its outstanding teams and its great sports personalities.
