A&M-Commerce basketball at home this weekend

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – A&M-Commerce basketball is at home this weekend after a two game road trip. The women's team comes off a loss to the Cameron Aggies, while the men come off another heart-pounding win.

The ladies showed one of their best first-half performances of the season, but slipped in the second half to fall 77-71 to the Aggies. The women are 11-9 overall and 3-2 in conference play and currently ranked 10th in the region.

For the men, Jermart Miller came up with some last-second heroics, sinking a three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime against Cameron. The Lions then pulled out a 95-91 victory in overtime. It was the 12th win of the season for the Lions.

Both teams are back at home tomorrow to face Southwestern Oklahoma in conference play. The women start off the double-header at 2pm and the men follow at 4pm in the A&M-Commerce field house. Both games can be heard here on 88.9 or in live stream over the web at ketr.org.
