A&M-Commerce education program ranked highly

Texas A&M University-Commerce

Texas A&M University-Commerce was recently ranked in the Online College Database’s list of “Top U.S. Colleges & Universities for Teaching Education.” A&M-Commerce was the only institution chosen from the state of Texas and was ranked #13 in the nation. Colleges and universities included on this list offer students a wide range of program options when it comes to teaching education.

“Texas A&M University-Commerce has a long history as a leader in the preparation of teachers, administrators and other related educational professions.  Our founder recognized the need for high quality educational professionals almost 125 years ago,” said Dr. Gail Johnson, Interim Dean of the College of Education and Human Services. “We are very happy to be recognized by the Online College Database for our work to prepare educational professionals to serve the needs of students for the State of Texas, the nation and the world.”

Dr. Dan R. Jones, A&M-Commerce President said, “Since the earliest days of East Texas Normal College, teacher preparation has been a core element of our university’s mission.  To be ranked as one of the best universities in the nation in preparing students for this critically important and noble profession is a testament to the tremendous dedication and excellence of our faculty.”

The Online College Database is a free, non-commercial website dedicated to providing current and future post-secondary students and their families with accurate and valuable college- and career-related information.
