A&M-Commerce employee named Regents Professor

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – A mathematics instructor at Texas A&M University-Commerce has received the designation of Regents Professor by the A&M University System.

Dr. Stuart N. Anderson is one of only eighteen professors and administrators to receive either the Regents Professor or Regents Fellow honor within one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation. The statewide network consists of 11 universities, seven state agencies and a comprehensive health science center.

The A&M System Board of Regents established the Regents Professor Award program in 1996 and Regents Fellow Service Award program in 1998 to recognize employees who have made exemplary contributions to their university or agency and to the people of Texas. To date, nearly 200 faculty members and agency professionals have been named either Regents Professor or Fellow.

Recipients will receive a $9,000 stipend, a commemorative medallion and a certificate at a dinner this evening in their honor.
