A&M-Commerce soccer nears end of regular season with impressive performances

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – The A&M-Commerce women's soccer teams came up big yesterday with a 5-0 shutout of Dallas Baptist. It took just under 12 minutes to notch all five goals early in the game, allowing the Lions to play conservative and defensive the rest of the afternoon.

Freshman standout Melissa DoRemus started the offensive barrage and ended with two goals, while Bailey Geels also finished with two goals and Haylee Williams added the 5th goal. Erin DeWolfe finished with 4 assist on the afternoon and now leads the Lone Star Conference in points, shots, assists, and game winning goals. Amber Ramoz got the start in goal and recorded her third shutout of the season.

The Lions are back on the field Friday hosting Eastern New Mexico in a 3pm contest. With just two regular season games left, A&M-Commerce will be trying to solidify their playoff standing. They are currently ranked 4th in the Lone Star Conference.
