For the second time in three weeks, the quarterback of the Texas A&M University-Commerce football team has earned offensive player of the week honors from the Lone Star Conference. Trent Miller's performance in the Lions win against A&M-Kingsville resulted in sharing player of the week with East Central Oklahoma quarterback Marcus Johnson.
The A&M-Commerce soccer team upset the number two team in the country over the weekend. The Lions won against Tampa 3-2 to open weekend play in Miami. The Lions finished their Florida trip falling to Barry University in overtime 3-2. The first home soccer game of the season is Friday afternoon at 4 against Incarnate Word.
The A&M-Commerce volleyball team played four matches over the weekend in Abilene, beating Texas-Permian Basin and falling to Fort Hays State, Incarnate Word, and nationally ranked Pittsburg State. Volleyball has matches later this week at Cameron and Midwestern.
