A&M-Commerce sports summary

Commerce, TX –

For the third time in four weeks, a member of the Texas A&M University-Commerce football team has received honors from the Lone Star Conference. Punter Daniel Swaim was named conference special teams player of the week. Swaim, who started punting for the Lions in the second quarter of last week's win against Kingsville, averaged over 52 yards a boot in Saturday's loss at West Texas. That included his first punt for 70 yards, the longest for Commerce in nine years. The Lions, who lost to the 10th ranked Buffaloes, 45-14, return to the road this weekend at Tarleton.

The A&M-Commerce women's soccer team split two home games this weekend. Sunday afternoon, the Lions defeated A&M-International 3-1. That followed Friday's loss to Incarnate Word 2-0. With a season record of 3-3,
soccer hosts Dallas Baptist Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.

Lions volleyball spent Saturday at Midwestern State, losing in 3 games to the Mustangs.

And men's golf continues a two-day tournament Monday in Duncan, Oklahoma.
