A&M-Commerce student killed in weekend shooting
By Scott Harvey
Commerce, Daingerfield – Tragedy strikes the Texas A&M University-Commerce family, as a student is shot and killed while at a club near Daingerfield in East Texas over the weekend.
Sources confirmed to KETR Monday that Christopher Rashad Moore died early Sunday morning at a Titus County hospital.
The Longview News Journal reports the shooting took place following a fight outside the club. Investigators have not confirmed a connection between the fight and the shooting, and no arrests had been made in the case as of this morning.
Two other men and a woman were also injured during the incident Sunday, and remained hospitalized as of Monday morning. Their injuries are not life-threatening, according to officials.
Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin says a birthday party was taking place at this club. Martin said based on what he'd heard, things were going well until around 2 o'clock, and then there might have been a couple of fights, which could have led to the shooting.
The 20 year-old Moore is a 2006 graduate of De Soto High School. His brother, Christian, is a student at A&M-Commerce.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Commerce, across from Memorial Stadium along Highway 50.
