A&M-Commerce tuition likely to go up

Commerce – A&M-Commerce President Keith McFarland will recommend a $15 per semester hour increase to tuition for next fall. It would represent an increase of $225 per semester in designated tuition. Even with the proposed increase, A&M-Commerce's tuition rates would remain in the bottom 25% of state funded institutions. An additional $3 million would be generated by the increase.

The increase is recommended to help offset in funding reduction from the Texas Higher Education Assistance Funds and increased utility costs.

The recommendation will be considered by the A&M Board of Regents in March.
