Special Amendment Election will be held on Nov. 7, 2017.

Delta County Commissioners Court heard the request of County Clerk Jane Jones to consider consolidating the voting locations for the special amendment election for Nov. 7, 2017.

The last amendment election there were 3,620 registered voters with only 527 people voting. It was suggested to save the County money. However the Court voted against consolidating.

A complete listing of the amendments was published in the Sept. 21, 2017 edition of the Cooper Review.

The timeframe for signing up to be on the ballot will be from Nov. 11 at 8 a.m. to Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. Offices up for re-election will be Delta County Judge, Justice of Peace, Delta County Treasurer, Delta County Clerk, Precincts 2 and 4 Commissioners. Early voting will be Feb. 20-March 2 with a Primary on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The Election will be in May.

The Commissioners Court will meet again on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Delta County Courthouse.
