Analysis of human remains proves to be true

DELTA COUNTY - The skeletal remains recently discovered in Delta County have been classified as that of archaeological Amerindians.

The Center of Human Identification official released its findings to the Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

The statement reads, “The badly fragmented bones represent a minimum of two sub-adult individuals based upon dental and skeletal age makers.”

The examiners at the Laboratory of Forensic Anthropology at the University of North Texas tested a sealed evidence bag containing 1.1 kg of skeletal fragments and lithic materials.

The remains were discovered by two Delta County locals while looking for arrowheads in the northern portion of the County last week.
