And the space rock verdict is...

A local mans sky high hopes for an unusual object he found outside of his residents, came crashing back to Earth Thursday.

Scott Massy met with officials from the astronomy department at Texas Christian University, concerning what he was sure was pieces of a meteor which had been seen by thousands on the night of February 1st. Massy spoke with an assistant professor of geology, who said that it was not a meteorite; instead it was some form of iron-nickel industrial slag. Shortly after 8 PM on February 1st a fire ball crossed the North Texas sky, and if it did land it would have landed in Hunt County. Massy lives just East of Greenville.
