The Annual Veterans Day Programs are planned for this Wednesday, Nov. 11 starting at 9 a.m. at the Cooper High School gym. The school pays tribute to all the Veterans by honoring them for their service to Our Country. The program will include speaker American Legion Red Henderson Post 483 Commander Gary Thompson.

Students fill the Wall of Honor with stars representing those that have given their all in military service. The award winning Mighty Maroon Marching Band will perform. The local Girl Scout Troop traditionally shows their respect in full uniform dress. The Cooper High School Student Council and school administration will also be speaking on behalf of the holiday.

Following the event at the school will be a gathering on the Delta County Courthouse steps to place a wreath on the memorial as well as a prayer. It will hosted by Post 483 and is expected to begin just before noon.

Post 483 will be meeting again on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at City Hall on the North Side of the Square in Cooper. They are going to be raffling off an 1894 leaver action model rifle and also 5,000 rounds of .22 long rifle ammunition. See any Post member for tickets. The raffle will be held at their annual Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Delta County Civic Center.
