Another arraignment held in Commerce shooting

By Brad Kellar

Commerce – Another arraignment has been held in connection with a Commerce shooting. Howard Weatherall Jr, of Commerce, has pleaded not guilty for a second time to a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is alleged to have shot a male victim in September of last year. Weatherall also Thursday pleaded not guilty again to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Jury selection had been set for earlier this year, but the charges were dismissed and Weatherall was re-indicted. A new trial date has now been set for June 8, 2009.
