Greenville – A Greenville drug suspect, wanted on federal charges in connection to last week's major cocaine distribution bust, is taken into custody.
24-year-old Gerald Dean Johnson had been sought since a task force of federal, state and local law enforcement officers swept through the region. Johnson was taken into custody Wednesday on the federal warrants. Four additional local charges were also filed.
At least eight defendants were named in indictments returned by a federal grand jury in Dallas last month and were recently taken into custody, plus nearly two dozen more on state charges.
